Velodyne Lidar

Velodyne Lidar – founded in 1983 and headquartered in San Jose, Calif. – has complete lidar-based safety solutions that incorporate both hardware and software. In 2005, Velodyne’s Founder David Hall invented real-time surround view lidar systems that advanced the development of autonomous vehicles.

Velodyne’s products meet the lidar needs of the most advanced automaker initiatives for autonomy and driver assistance. Its wide array of products are not only used in the AV / ADAS industry but in a variety of other applications and industries, including robotics, security, drone/UAV, mapping, industrial, smart city, and more.

Velodyne has a full portfolio of state-of-the-art lidar sensor products. Their solutions include a range of surround-view sensors and new technologies as well as directional and ultra-wide, close-range sensors to address market needs.

Many experts believe that lidar sensors are essential components for true autonomy, due to the robust point cloud data and a wide variety of use cases in which lidar performs better than other sensor types.

Thanks to our agreement, Velodyne and ANYVERSE will work together to assist the vast ecosystem of autonomous systems developers in enhancing their sensor stack technology. Our technical collaboration will allow ANYVERSE to more accurately model Velodyne’s industry-leading suite of lidar sensors and help both companies to identify new business and opportunities.
