ANYVERSE is a high-fidelity synthetic data solution for perception training and testing. At its deepest level, ANYVERSE features a physics-based synthetic image generation technology able to produce very realistic images and sequences of unprecedented quality. The engine uses an accurate light transport model and provides a physics description of lights and materials. This allows for a very detailed simulation of the amount of light that is reaching the camera sensor. Equally important is the simulation of the camera sensor itself, i.e. how the light coming from the scene is converted into the final RGB image. It’s been demonstrated that a machine learning model trained on a synthetic dataset where camera sensor effects are introduced performs in general better than if the effects are not present. In this white paper we describe the ANYVERSE sensor simulation pipeline. Please fill the form to download the document.
